Another Update After All

The process of transferring from this domain to sadie-hall.com is proving tricky.

I know how to “do” the things, although the export/import part is causing problems.

But I’m not sure what to do on the new site:

  • Update all my old posts so that they “fit” the new site?
  • Trash them and start from scratch?

I don’t like either option.

It feels weird to go back and “edit the journey.” Inauthentic.

But if I don’t, then I’d have all these Blushy Ginger branded posts on my new site, where I think I’m going to be doing things a bit differently.

It’s hard to explain without going into painstaking detail.

So, long story short, I’ve removed the redirect from this blog to the new site.

Which means that blushyginger.com is fully active. I think I’ll keep updating this one as I get to know the new site.

Hopefully, with time and familiarity, the solution will present itself.

In the meantime, I want to be able to blog!!!

I can’t think of any other option that doesn’t make my head explode.

That’s the mini update for now.

I’ll still be checking comments and stuff on here!

Also can I just say that trying to switch between two different WordPress accounts is infuriating?

Hope you’re doing well today xoxo

Sadie

  1. I know that updating your posts to fit a new aesthetic is annoying and a lot of work (I’m working through this myself), but you could always get new blog post ideas from doing that. You could always move the blushy ginger posts to the draft side and fix it as you go if you don’t have the time and energy to update them all at once. It also helps you keep the old posts from messing up your new look.

Either way, it’s good to have you back! I’ve missed your posts! πŸ™‚

    1. The funny thing is, I was basically fine with wordpress.com (the hosted platform that blushyginger is on). It’s just now, when I have sadie-hall.com self-hosted by Bluehost, as a wordpress.org site, but Jetpack-enabled to connect with wordpress.com, which clashes with blushyginger’s wordpress.com account….. it’s so confusing.

  2. I don’t know how you feel about having something like an FAQ somewhere, but if you’d be up for it, you could leave the old posts as they are and have a question to the effect of “What’s the deal with Blushy Ginger stuff?” so if anyone is curious enough to investigate, there’s an answer for them
